Kennedy to Announce Run; Will Stop in Milford

Joseph Kennedy III, the grandson of Robert F. Kennedy, is expected to announce Thursday his run for the U.S. House seat held by the retiring Barney Frank. Kennedy plans a stop at Crivello's Crossing in Milford.

, a former state prosecutor and the grandson of Robert F. Kennedy, will announce his candidacy for the U.S. House on Thursday, according to a release from his campaign.

Kennedy will seek the seat now held by the , a district that recently was reshaped to cover a broad section of eastern Massachusetts,

Following his announcement, Kennedy is set to make five stops in the district, starting in Newton. Among Kennedy's stops: one of the oldest family-owned restaurants in town. He is expected to be at the restaurant about 10 a.m.

Kennedy also expects to visit Attleboro, Taunton and Fall River. 

In a press release Wednesday, Kennedy stated: "I believe this country was founded on a simple idea: that every person deserves to be treated fairly, by each other and by their government, but that’s not happening in America anymore. I've spoken to people from across the 4th Congressional District — from Newton to Fall River — who believe that Washington no longer works for them. I will work hard to earn every vote and if elected bring that fight for fairness to the US Congress.”
