Dance Academy Students to Collect Donations for Ribeiro Family

Some of the dancers at Sandra's Dance at Studio 28, on Congress Street, will collect donations Sunday for the family who lost their Domenick Street home to a fire last month.

Dance students who attend Sandra's Dance at Studio 28 will collect cash donations at St. Mary of the Assumption Church Sunday for a Milford family whose home burned in February.

The Ribeiro family lost the two-story house and all of their possessions in the fire, which was determined to be accidental by the state Fire Marshal's office. The family has four children, and one of their daughters, Jennifer, is a student at Sandra's Dance, on Congress Street.

"She is loved by all of us at the dancing school and our hearts go out to this family in such a difficult time," said Sandra Fraga-Pavao, owner of Sandra's Dance, of Jennifer.

On Sunday a table will be set up at St. Mary's from 7:45 a.m. to 1 p.m., said Fraga-Pavao, who will staff the table along with some of the other dance students. The volunteers will be identifiable because they will be wearing the Sandra's Dance T-shirts, she said.
