It's one thing to take on Shaquille O'Neal on the basketball court. But in a pinewood derby race?

O'Neal, the Boston Celtics center, will be the guest of honor at the Knox Trail Council, Boy Scouts of America, 2011 Distinguished Citizen Award Dinner, to be held April 4 at the Sheraton Tara in Framingham.

Because this is pinewood derby season, a group of Cub Scouts from Milford decided they would present Shaq with a pinewood derby car—and then race it against their own cars.

The mock pinewood derby race will feature Cole Windsor, 6, Connor McNamara, 7, and Mackenzie Enright, 7. And O'Neal, of course, should he accept the challenge.

O'Neal is being recognized at the dinner for his significant volunteer and professional achievements. Funds generated from the dinner will be used for the support of local scouting programs.
