How well does the heated driveway work when one of the pictures shows snow on the driveway?

A heated drive way? Please explain the purpose of that. Sounds like a waste of resources and money.

The purpose of it....? Hmmmm maybe so you don't have to shovel?! Great question. And actually most of the time it's just hot water pipes under the ground from your forced hot water heating system.. not too much of a waste.

If you see how steep the driveway is you would want it. It prevents the driveway from icing up.

I was just curious. I had never heard of that before.

We aren't far from Milford and we have a heated driveway... When my husband travels for business, I am able to turn on the driveway during storms and not have to leave my young kids alone inside while I shovel & sand or salt the driveway. PS: It costs under $3 an hour to run our heater. Worth it to us.
