A Makeover for Miss Pine

Miss Pine, the sculptural woman's figure carved from a 60-foot pine on the Mac Med Salon property, is looking a little pale this week.

Miss Pine is a woman people in Milford either love or hate.

A quirky landmark to some, an eyesore in Pepto-Bismol pink to others.

This week, it's hard not to notice she's lost some of her famous color.

Painters covered her in primer. A makeover is coming soon. Debbie MacDonald, owner of Mac Med Salon, who had the scultpure made from a 60-foot pine on the property, is thinking flesh tones with gold highlights, perhaps.

We'll just have to wait and see how she turns out.

Im sorry I dont find anything news worthy about this statue... most of my customers complain about how it looks like a "adult toy" while I have read many jokes stating the same thing on facebook...

You want comments that are "decent"? Seriously? Everyone, I mean *everyone* that looks at that thing thinks the same thing. Anyone that says otherwise is being polite or starts snickering the second you are out of earshot. Painting it fleshtone will just make it funnier, so by all means, go for it.

I"m not being "polite" nor do I "snicker" when I see it. I also don't think of it as anything other than something kinda "neat" that the owner invested in. The gentleman who made it is talented and if everyone got their minds out of the gutter maybe this town would be on a better track to getting somewhere other than "down the drain".

I actually thought it was a tribute for "A Cure for Cancer" - with a woman holding a heart painted in "PINK". Nice gesture from the owner and wood carver.

This would be a case of art being in the eye of the beholder. I have to say, I've never looked at it the way some people are looking at it, so.... this story has kind of amused me...

Just more over done garbage that does look like a sex toy, everyone agrees... but it goes along with all the rest of the tacky, over priced, out of scale crap "decorating" the place. Poor Mrs. Pyne would roll over in her grave if she could see the mess you made out of that beautiful old house. And what's with the balloon "sculpture" and the ugly blue water in the waterfall? And the HUGE chandelier on the front porch... scale is important not size... are you compensating?
