5 Things You Need to Know Today: March 14

Our weekday morning column, 5 Things You Need to Know, provides you with information that can help you plan your day and give you some fodder for water cooler conversations.

1. The weather Wednesday is supposed to be unseasonably warm, and so, a perfect day to enjoy some ice cream — and for a good cause. The Milford High School Parents for Music organization is holding a fundraiser at from 5 to 9 p.m., with 10 percent of all sales being directed to the high school music programs.

2. The first day of spring? It's (unofficially) this week. ends as of midnight Friday. This will come as a relief to all of the people who were ticketed overnight by police for parking on town streets.

3. Do you wonder who owns the house down the street? And how much it last sold for? Milford now has a GIS system on the town website, which allows you to hover over the neighborhood, literally. You will need an owner name or a street number and address to see what's going on.

4. A job fair will be held at the DCU Center in Worcester on Friday, sponsored in part by in Milford, with a special sponsor. Attendees will be offered a buy one, get one free ticket deal for the Worcester Sharks vs. Providence Bruins game at 7:30 p.m. The fair will feature employers from across the state with opportunities in healthcare, bioresearch, education, software engineering, manufacturing, construction and retail.

5. Easter is just around the corner, as any peek down a pharmacy aisle will remind you, where Peeps and chocolate bunnies reign. Don't forget that you can bring the kids to meet the Easter Bunny at . is March 25.
