Sewing by Hand for Grades 3-5

  • September 21, 2012

The Milford Community Program is offering two sessions of Sewing by Hand for girls in grades 3 through 5.  Lisa Bibring, the Milford Memorial Elementary School Librarian, is the instructor.  She has enjoyed sewing for many years, teaching her two daughters.

This program is a fun-filled beginner class in which your daughter will learn a variety of stitches.  Students will have time to complete at least 3 of the following projects: a stuffed bear, cat or dog, a sachet, a drawstring bag, a heart pillow, a tissue pack holder, or an ornament.  The more experienced students will move beyond the basics to use decorative embroidery stitches on projects such as a handbag, coin purse, butterfly pin, or ornament.

One session will be offered for 8 weeks on Tuesdays beginning Oct. 2 through Nov. 20 from 3:45 to 5 p.m. in the MHS Art Room.  The second session will be offered for 7 weeks on Saturdays beginning Oct. 6 through Nov. 17 from 9:30 to 11 a.m. in the MHS Art Room.  Cost is $65 for Milford residents and $75 for non-residents.

Registration forms and other program information may be found on the Milford Community Program website at www.milford.ma.us/mcs. Please call the office at (508) 478-1119 with questions.  All registration forms and fees must be submitted to the Milford Community Program office located at 31 West Fountain Street, Milford MA 01757 prior to the start of the program.
