Rose T. (Cancelmo) Prosser, 96, of Milford, died Thurs., Nov. 18, in The Beaumont in Worcester. Her husband, the late Francis J. Prosser, died in 1982.

She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Bonifacio and Baradina (Comito) Cancelmo, and lived many years in Milford. She was educated in Southbridge schools.

Mrs. Prosser was a floor lady for many years at the former Milford Shoe Company. She was fond of her pets, from Skipper the dog to many Callies the cats, one of which survived her.

In 1953, she pulled people from a second-floor apartment of a burning building to safety, one of whom was her father. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family.

After her husband's death, she became involved at the Milford Senior Center, taking care of the plants and crafts.

She leaves a great-nephew, Joey Cancelmo of Worcester; a sister, Palmina Gianetti of Worcester; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Joseph P. Cancelmo, three sisters, Angela Cancelmo, Lucy Mancini, and Mary DiStrattis, and two stepsisters, Veradina DiCarlo and Gilda Cancelmo. 

A graveside service was held Mon., Nov. 22, in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Consigli-Ruggerio Funeral Home, 46 Water St., directed the funeral arrangements.
