Milford Play Initiative Thanks Slattery Family for Donation

  • December 1, 2011

The Milford Play Initiative is happy to announce that the Slattery family has donated funds to purchase the Front End Loader for the play area for 2- to 5-year-olds, in memory of their father, James “Slatts” Slattery.

There will be a plaque on the equipment reading "In Memory of James “Slatts” Slattery." Thank you to the family as they are the first to make this type of donation.  All donations are greatly appreciated. We are aiming to start construction of the playground, which will feature two play areas, in spring 2012.

A poster with pictures of the equipment pieces for the 2- to 5-year old area is posted at the Milford Town Library, with donation amounts on it.

The playground proposed for Fino Field has yet to be “named." The Milford Play Initiative is reserving this for a company or family that makes a sizeable donation. Names will be limited to a family name or a business name. In the event that a company or family wishes to remain anonymous in their donation, then the committee will decide on the name of the play area. All names will be approved by the committee, as well as the Milford Parks and Recreation department.
