Milford Cheerleaders Take Second at Nationals
The U15 Milford Lady Hawks qualified to attend the world’s largest cheer competition in Orlando, FL on December
10th. This is the second year in a row that this team has qualified to compete at this level. The girls, ages 14 and 15, worked extremely hard to get to this level of competition and were very proud to be representing the town of Milford, Central Mass and New England. The team is coached by Melissa Juliano and assisted by Lisa Caso and Marin Dolan.
These girls persevered through a very tough training season as they had to overcome numerous injuries, including concussions, never having a full squad on the mat to practice until the day of the National Competition. The girls were often moved to new positions to fill in for
and injured teammate, many of them needing to learn more than one position in the routine!
On December 10th the U15 Lady Hawks gave the
performance of their lives and took home a second place national trophy! They executed a great routine with sharp motions, good incorporation of props, great tumbling passes, awesome stunts and a clean enthusiastic dance. Their outstanding performance is a true testament to their dedication, team spirit and love of cheering.
Next time you see one of these Lady Hawks be sure to congratulate them on their win!
