Middle School Fall Programs

  • September 3, 2012

The Milford Community Program is offering 2 sports programs starting soon for middle school students:

Mini-Hawks Middle School Field Hockey is for girls in grades 5 through 7.  This is a starter field hockey program that will combine practice to enhance skills, mentoring by Milford JV players, and gameplay opportunity in at least one game versus an area town.  The program meets on Mondays and Wednesdays beginning September 10, through October 29, (no program on Sept. 17, Sept. 26 and Oct. 8).  It will be held at Milford Town Park from 2:30 to 4 p.m. and the cost is $65 for Milford students and $75 for non-Milford students.

Basketball Club for grades 5 through 8 will start on Wednesday, October 3, and run from 2:40 pm to 4 p.m. for 7 weeks until November 14 at Stacy Middle School Gym.  This program will provide a way for students to improve their basketball skills, get some exercise, and have some fun all in the same place.  Fundamentals such as passing, dribbling, shooting, rebounding and defense will be showcased in fun, competitive drills that will increase the student's abilities on the court as well as develop sportsmanship.  Games such as knockout, 3 on 3, and team shooting 3-2-1 games will be played.  Cost is $45 for Milford students and $55 for non-Milford students.

Details of our programs, as well as other classes being offered, may be found on the Milford Community Program website at www.milford.ma.us/mcs.  All registrations and fees must be submitted to the Milford Community Program office located at 31 West Fountain Street, Milford MA 01757 prior to the start of the program.  Late registrations are accepted if space is available, but fees will not be reduced.  Any questions, please call the office at (508) 478-1119.
