Lyn Lovell and Anne Lamontagne, longtime members of the Historical Commission of Milford, have informed the Board of Selectmen of the upcoming 100th Anniversary of the dedication of the General William F. Draper statue.
The statue, designed by Daniel Chester French, was dedicated to the Town of Milford on Sept. 25, 1912, a gift from his wife, Susan Preston Draper. As a result, it has been recommended and approved by the Board of Selectmen, to form a committee to plan a service at Draper Memorial Park to commemorate this event and to view the Civil War memorabilia preserved by the Historical Commission at Memorial Hall.
