THIRD ANNUAL GREATER MILFORD CROP HUNGER WALK SCHEDULED FOR OCTOBER 1

- 10-K Walk Through Milford Will Help End Hunger Locally and Globally
- Team Rally Night will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 13 at 7 p.m. at the Milford Town Library

The date for the third annual Greater Milford CROP (Communities Responding to Overcome Poverty) Hunger Walk has been set for Saturday, October 1 at 10 a.m. with registration beginning at 9 a.m. In its first two years, more than 200 walkers have participated in the Greater Milford CROP Hunger Walks and nearly $20,000 has been raised to help take a stand against hunger in the greater Milford area and around the world via Church World Service.

Sponsored by Church World Service and organized by representatives from the greater Milford area, the 10-K walk will begin at Draper Park, which is located in downtown Milford between the police station and the post office. A portion of the funds raised at the Milford CROP Hunger Walk will go directly to the Milford Daily Bread Food Pantry and the First Unitarian Church of Milford’s Community Suppers. Additional funds will benefit the overall work and ministry of Church World Service -- working in some 80 countries to help those in need help themselves through refugee assistance, self-help development programs, advocacy, and disaster relief.

Local residents, families, groups, congregations and local businesses can support this event by walking, sponsoring a team or walker, volunteering or donating money for this important cause.
